This topic contains spoilers that will ruin the entire series if you havent seen it yet, go watch it first ~~
So it ended T____TTT , but is Lelouch alive?
My guess is that he is, It has to be T_T, I'm fairly confident he is too, I'm pretty sure he's the dude on the carriage ^,^:3

The most obvious reason would be CC calling to Lelouch in the closing scene of the episode. As we can assume CC to be still sane, she must be talking to someone, and that someone would most probably be the driver of the cart: Lelouch would have to be alive.
Second, however, and this is where the others have thought things through, Lelouch is alive because he got his dad’s code. He beckoned the World of C to lend him its powers, and he took Charles’s code before Charles passed on. The reason why Lelouch still has his Geass is because he didn’t take the Code from the same person who gave him his Geass: he took his Geass from CC, and he took his Code from Charles. Thus, he now possesses both immortality and a Geass. This is also a reason that the title is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.
To further corroborate this, however, remember that when Nunnally held Lelouch’s hand he transferred his memories to her. CC also did it when Lelouch touched her accidentally back then, so it could be assumed that people with Codes are indeliberate telepaths. This leaves us with both immortals traversing the world for the rest of eternity.
It’s a great end, friends. 
P.S. Ending line of CC translated by bibi: “Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you… well, I guess thats a little wrong… eh, Lelouch”
P.P.S. Additional evidence, courtesy of `Nergal and 4chan:
1. Charles grabbed Lelouch with his right hand, which had the Geass sigil.
2. Lelouch needed the fully evolved Geass to transfer a code.
3. The code doesn’t appear to activate until someone dies. Hence, why C.C. was wounded when she first inherited her code. Same happened with Charles in the World of C.
4. When Lelouch touched Nunnally, Nunnally got a flash of his memories. This ONLY happens when a high potential Geass user touches someone with the fully evolved Geass.
5. The title of the series is “R2″, which is similar to how “C.C” is pronounced. So Lelouch would be “R.R.” which is Engrish (I presume) for L.L., Lelouch Lamprouge.
6. When C.C. is talking on the wagon, she says “the power of Geass brings loneliness…that’s not quite right is it, Lelouch?” and nods her head in the direction of the wagon driver.

Yeah mayby lelouch is alive but does that mean that they would make a season 3. I think not as the world has been made a perfect place. UNLESS there is some sort of new enemy that threatens said world peace and they need the tactical genius of Lelouch

I mean, CC told Mao to wait her in World of C, so probably Lelouch is there aswell, if he indeed isn't in the real world.

but why would nunally become so sad even though she got lelouchs memories? wouldnt she know that he was immortal then?
Altho a R3 would suck ass..
btw the subbers joke at the last line was win  {oh shit}{LELOUCH GHOST RETURNS IN R3 INC}{DRAGONGEASS Z}

Amazing ending, Probally the best in all the anime I have seen. Hopefully there is a R3. I think there is because they left out to many questions and things were just getting started imo.

she only got a part of his memory, same was with cc before, they don't see everything, just a part.

Bah. I thought I was spot on for that too. But quite personaly. I think he is alive.
By the way. do I need to wait till tomarrow to give the other 5 points of reputation or is there a way to give more at once? Won't let me give more then 5 at a time and not back to back >.<

In my opinion Lulu is still alive, on the gif file P2C put on the 1st post, the guy's really lulu.
I think that this was VERY good ending episode, but in the same time it gave a high % chance for new serie. If they're gonna continue they'll either make a new R3 with lulu main char, or continue with manga (i think).
I wonder (if R3 comes) what does peoples faces look like when they see Lulu is alive

and yes in asian languages R is not found or is found in only one or two words and when the R appears it coms out as l like in my first name it has an r but it comes out as L and because C.C. is pronounced c2 then R2 can be L2 ^^
so pigsters theory is plausible ^^

You, know....if they would've just edit the music out, it would be so damn teary at the end
But anyway, the ending is very epic indeed. I think the way they made characters look dieing (with the red around their eyes) better and more realistic than the ''colorless+no more shining'' eyes. Hope they'll keep that up in the future.
Although having this Anime come to an end really pisses me off, because is it just me, or is the amount of actual GOOD animes at this moment incredibly low?
I expect more of 2009...;<
Btw...here's a theory:
Schnitzel gets loose of his Geass, kills Nunnaly and tries to conquer the world again. Then we'll just have to wait for the fabulous return of Lelouch ;O!

To me it seems fairly clear Lelouch is alive. Again great ending. Adding any more by either making a new season or adding info about Lelouch's where-abouts would ruing the perfection they have reached now. Sometimes more content that just blatantly tells you what ended up happening ruins the beauty of the work.
