well, people kill eachother in war animes, they play in stuff like the second or first world war, air raids and stuff

this is actually a true account, with one change obviously, based on the memoir of the boy.
AND
shockingly enough, the director, and the writer/boy from the movie was shocked that people, like 99% westerners, perceived the theme to be what war does to the innocents. The boy and the director were actually trying to make the theme be what pride and stubborn-ess results in, with the boy, who still blames himself to this day and wrote the book to try to find closure, putting his pride before everything.
This book is unique in a way that in WWII, all the movies we get focus on the atomic bombs, where this one shows that just plain war itself was bad enough.
A few years back, recently, they made a live action of the movie, but written mostly from the aunt's point of view. Focusing on how war turns a good person bad. |

Grave of the Fireflies is the anime about two kids after the Americans attacked the Japanese during a war right? It was well made, but I really didn't like it too much. It was kind of boring. I was expecting something that didn't really seemed to happen. But is anyone likes it, good for you. |
