internet explorer vs. firefox

I have noticed that at the bottem of the anime movie watcher thingermajig that it says some "some videos may require firefox and that for faster streaming download firefox" so my question is this is firefox actualy faster or is it just marketing mumbo jumbo (i know its free but there must be money trading hands somewhere)

i had internet explorer for a long time and i have to say fire fox is a lot better especially with some of the ad ons (stumble is a must get if you have Firefox another example is ad block(this makes ads not come up on pages i love it))

Every browser is better than Internet Exploder, so yes, it is better.

You might try Opera aswell, though.

1) I don't know about "faster streaming" with firefox, but ff is much better than ie on every level.
2) Opera vs ff is a question of speed vs features. Opera is the fastest browser (at least on windows), but it is somewhat lacking in features & customizability. If you want pure speed, go for opera. If you want better/more features & usability, go for ff.
3) No browser "rejects" viruses, but ff is much more secure against them than ie is (although opera is probably about equal to ff in that regard). IE is just a whopping security hole just waiting to be taken advantage of. The biggest thing you can do to make your computer much more secure is simply to stop using ie.

IE=No p2c's sig
FF=Final Fantasy!.... erm... then you can see P2C's sig

FF= gives problems with flv's here
IE= gives no problems

FF= no popups
IE=POP UPS... well.. more than ff...

FF=spellcheck
IE= get laughed ad because you made a typo

when I type in an url when i'm encoding something or w/e i have to wait like a minut before it even attempts to go to the website<_<

it always seemed like i had to d/l crap for it every other day
hated it

and on a sidenote that has nothing to do with this

quicktime player sucks ballsack

it skips, and is slow as hell
i watch my video in the zoom player, and don't have even one of the problems i do in quicktime player lol, and i can actually maximize the screen instead of it just being tiny in the middle :/

safari sucks. and i know this because i have used FF, opera, IE and Safari.

FF abd Opera are about the same for me, but i'm using FF now cuz it comes with ubuntu.
