gimp+me=gimp+mouse.
and gimp=more superior over PS/others (imo). Just because it's free doesn't mean it sucks.
but I don't want to turn this into "battle of the paint apps" thread, so lets stop their.
an I guess I'll take your comment a a good one

if uploading to the interwebz, you should save it as .jpg, much smaller filesize.
also, not to sound rude, but what part did you make/edit? Or is it just a photo?
it looks fat . I like fat birds, they funny. _________________

just gotta shade/background and possibly add accessories. Then I'm done. I thinks.

well, next imma do the shading.
but I haven't started yet. I probably won't till Monday. Sorry.
found 2 shading guides (hair and skin), but those methods are a bit harder then my current method. so I'll play around a bit.
soooo, yeah. An update on Monday or Tuesday.
1st post updated with the 2 new tutorials. _________________

i believe i've seen a few of those tutorials a very long time ago
lately i've been watching a lot of speed painting
and anime/manga tutorial stuff
i really haven't learned much, but i've been thinking about doing some
art...specifically a dragon and a few other things
looks like you've got a pretty good start
although could possibly lose a few creases on the pants
and despite not having used paint.net
gimp is probably better
you just have to know what your doing
theres not a whole lot to the paths tool/pen tool
it just takes time to getting used to
at first i found both gimp and photoshop to be really confuzzling and scary lol, but after looking at a few tutorials showing what certain things do, and a bit of messing around i began to slowly get into things...i recommend trying it over paint.net
i've also been interested in vectoring, which added to my want to make characters lol i'll probably start soon here too, unless school wears me down :/ _________________ Saw somone elses thought I would make my own list too

still haven't done anything,
hopefully I will tomorrow unless something comes up.
yes, gimp/ps, confusing at 1st, tons of options, and depending on your "skills", hard.
but after learning, VERY very good.
for vector graphics:
Inkscape=free, great, but doesn't allow animations (I think )
Flash=expensive (unless cracked ), great, animations+games _________________

perhaps i should give Gimp a try i hated photoshop due to the fact you have to pay and it takes over your ram like hell.
try this site for open source alternatives OSALT
for animation try this _________________

hair shading is (done?)
2 colors added in 1st post.
yes I know a part of the hair is missing its outline, and I'm not sure about the zig-zag highlight on top.
I used a method that will probably never work again, if this method even worked on this pic.
yeah. shading is not fun. :/ _________________
