The party makes search checks:

Ameron = d20 - 1 = 9
Veinlash = d20 +3 = 16
Mabon = d20 + x = 9+x please E-mail me your character sheet
Deen = d20 + 0 = 16

Deen climbs the tree where Kura was sleeping for the night. There is a nap sack proped against the trunk containing a few personal items.

Veinlash, whilst wandering arround the edge of the forrest finds the odd boot print, but he doesn't posess the skills to follow a trail (Track feat)

Thats not how it works, if you think you need someone who can track, go and find someone with tracking. Or you could wait arround your campsite until one walks past, but I wouldn't put much faith in that method.
