so recently I bought a scanner and was wondering:
what I shouldn't scan.
like, would it be safe to scan a:
paperclip
CD/dvd (face up or down)
tiny mirror (don't ask  )
glass
thin electrical device (pocketpc, ipod, etc)
flash drive
sd storage card
...etc...
or should I only stick to scanning paper/cloth products?
I got a HP deskjet F4200 (all-in-one)
I couldn't find anything in the manual that came with it.

You buy a scanner or are u trying to use a microwave to upload stuff??
Tut tt began with a basic knowlage of computers and ended up looking silly!! tut tut lol!!
You could scan ur own arse if u fancied it and its not in the manual becasue who thought some one wold ask the question??

as I am a 3d modeler, I would like to scan things so I could have an image/ref pics on my pc.
or to get/make textures for my models.
or just for the fun of it 
I don't have a digital camera so I can't take pics.

a digital camera is useful for terrain textures so i would suggest investing in one but yeah a scanner is very good for modelling like the ipod i made for the sims 2

terrain...I can easily make in GIMP. Or find one of many already. Or find a picture of a field or w/e. I can easily edit for any need.
sooo, any answers/guides to what I shouldn't scan? Shouldnt scan, as in "OMG MY SCANNER FRIED AND IS NO LONGER USABLE!!"

My Ipod Touch can do that...with 16 gig(wtfpwned) but I really can't be asked to pay another 300 Euro for a stupid ''phone'' ability.

i agree with all the points but the apple one because MAC's kick ass + that is what they did before the ipod or the iphone because back in the 70's everyone had ipod's
